What is in the PDF?
- Your car’s market value. One figure in forints, rounded to the nearest 1 000 Ft, large on the first page.
- A market price range, for information. The lower and upper asking prices of most similar cars.
- A market picture. How many similar cars we used, with which years and mileages.
- What raises and what lowers the value, from the details you entered.
- A unique verification code. A buyer can check that the PDF is genuine.
Who is it for?
For you if you are selling your own car, or handing it in as a trade-in, and you want to know whether an offer is fair. Also if you are buying, and you want to know what the chosen car is worth on the current Hungarian market. You need the plate or the VIN. We do not value a car that is in the recorded stock of dealers who use CarVinsight. We check that before payment, and then we do not ask you to pay.
What does it cost, and how long is it valid?
The gross fee depends on the country: 1 490 Ft in Hungary, 22.99 zł in Poland, and 5 EUR in other countries. You pay once. There is no subscription. It is valid for 30 days. If you ask again for the same VIN within 30 days, we do not calculate again: we resend the original PDF free of charge to the email address that paid. Another car, or after 30 days, is a new estimate and a new fee. At most 3 cars a month per email address and per card.
What it is, and what it is not
It is not prepared by an official appraiser. It is a value calculated from market data, not an expert opinion. We do not inspect the car. It is not an offer to buy. We calculate from asking prices, not from completed sale prices. Buyers usually negotiate. The recall signal, when we have one, concerns the make, model and year, not proof that your exact car is affected.
What we calculate from
We watch several million listings on the major European car sites. We do not name those sites. From a live sample of the most similar cars, usually about 20, we take the median of current asking prices and adjust it to your car’s year, mileage, equipment and condition. The result is rounded to the nearest 1 000 Ft, because the figure is the value on the Hungarian market. If there is too little data, or the car appears to be worth more than 50 000 euro, we say so before payment and we do not ask you to pay.
The estimate shows what the car is worth on the Hungarian market. Import costs into Hungary are not included. Those can be added in the import cost calculator (in Hungarian).

The card payment service sends a short confirmation. We send the payment receipt, with the PDF download link. Both emails concern the same single payment.
